Southern Cross Care sought to upgrade 600 SQM of existing outdoor and allied health facilities into vibrant, purpose-built spaces that enhance resident wellbeing and community engagement.
Working in a live environment, Interite designed and built a new 342 SQM outdoor pavilion which features a Bocce lawn for recreational activities, a large covered pavilion roof designed as an evolving architectural feature, and upgraded outdoor amenities. The result is a flexible, multi-use recreational area encouraging connection and active living for residents.
Inside Duhig Village, allied health rooms were redesigned for adaptability, supporting rehabilitation equipment and the changing needs of residents and healthcare professionals. The new gymnasium offers a spacious, light-filled environment equipped with specialised machines for gentle strength training and rehabilitation, helping residents maintain mobility, independence, and overall health.
The of the upgrade is a modern, welcoming environment where healthcare and recreation come together to enrich the lives of residents.
