Avanti Health Centres sought to launch three new gym facilities in Queensland to support their mission of helping people over 50 achieve longevity and quality of life. The design brief called for a “Hamptons-meets-seaside” aesthetic tailored to their client base. Operationally the challenge was clear: complete all three sites simultaneously and meet strict pre-Christmas funding deadlines. Supply shortages and uncertainty caused by COVID-19 added further pressure around material availability and lead times.
Interite worked alongside Avanti to deliver all three gym facilities. Throughout the process, we provided weekly update reports and held several on-site meetings with the Avanti team to ensure quality and transparency at every step. These freqent reports also allowed for faster approval processes for potential design changes so we could stick to our tight schedule.
Due to COVID-induced delays, some of Avanti’s specific design requirements could not be fulfilled. Our team worked closely with Avanti to find alternative sustainable materials and avoid potential delays and cost blowouts. For instance, a specific carpet (made from recycled fishing nets) was unavailable at the time. Our team was able to source a similar product with a similarly low environmental impact: carpet manufactured from 100% regenerated nylon (including yarn waste).
We’re proud that every site was delivered on time and on budget. Since the success of this project, we’ve begun delivery on three more Avanti sites across Australia.
