Access Health sought to consolidate three separate sites into a single, purpose-built healthcare hub in Doncaster, VIC. The 1,200m² site came with several constraints including irregular geometry, low ceiling heights, and multiple access points. Delivering a space that catered to a wide range of services—while also being community-led and culturally inclusive—required careful planning and collaboration.
Through a comprehensive co-design process with staff, carers, and clients, Interite shaped an interior that prioritised trauma-informed design, equitable access, and emotional wellbeing. The layout features flexible consult rooms, intuitive zoning, and inclusive signage, supported by Indigenous artwork and user-centric wayfinding. Every detail—from material selection to spatial flow—was aligned to Access Health’s functional and cultural goals.
Delivered in five months on time and on budget, the new centre offers a calm, resilient, and inclusive environment that supports general practice, counselling, allied health, and more. It now stands as a model for community-led healthcare design—balancing empathy, functionality, and future adaptability.
