Our design and build teams take great pride in helping to deliver headspace centres to meet the needs of each of their local communities. Improving the provision and quality of healthcare in regional areas is integral to community health. This headspace centre located in Karratha, WA now provides a hub for local youth and adolescents and their families to seek the mental health support they need. headspace, Karratha is a vibrant, welcoming centre. From entrance, to reception and through to counselling rooms the space is fun and bold, yet still on-brand with headspace centres, nationally. Each counselling and GP room has been designed within a solar system theme, and rooms have their own distinguished colour; a clever wayfinding strategy eases stress and anxiety amongst patients who may be feeling vulnerable; whilst adding some fun. The work space for staff is a collaborative and large zone away from the consulting areas, client confidentiality has been well considered with partitioning between workstations. Ample storage space for therapy resources and administration goods line the main passage areas. The group room allows flexibility with a moveable partition between, the room can be set for large or small gatherings. The sky light welcomes natural light and energy. Staff and family amenities are incorporated, with a family room for private meetings and a staff kitchen for break time. We are proud to have helped bring the provision of mental healthcare into another regional town through the design and build of headspace, Karratha.
